London is brimming with artisan coffee roasters, but one of our favourite cups is from our neighbours at The Watch House on Bermondsey Street. They have collaborated with Ozone Coffee Roasters (OCR) to create the ultimate coffee, whether you’re a latte lover or an espresso devotee.
Alongside great coffee, The Watch House serve artisan sandwiches, homemade soups, and breakfast sandwiches which are not to be missed.
A newcomer to Bermondsey Street, Bermondsey Yard Cafe serves honest and beautifully crafted food from locally sourced ingredients. A former carpark turned cafe, the interior has been stripped back to its original industrial design features, exposing all its raw materials, contrasted against reclaimed furniture and low lit lighting.
On the menu you can find:
- Serrano ham with mozzarella, figs, and oven dried tomatoes
- Angus beef burger with Gouda cheese with shallot mayonnaise and chips
- Smashed avocado and teriyaki salmon with pickled chilli and sourdough
- Chocolate and orange tart, pistachio brittle and spiced orange sauce
If you’re like us and love nothing more than a plateful of carb-laden pasta, then join the queue at Padella. Padella’s dedication to proper pasta sets this Italian apart from the rest. The menu changes frequently and offers a small selection of antipasti, pasta and puddings. The highlights of the menu are:

- Pappardelle with 8-hour Dexter beef shin ragu
