The weather outside may be cold, wet and windy but we still live in hope that Summer will arrive soon. We take a look at some of the best events on Junes agenda.
Pergola on the Roof
White City has opened this summers hottest event space on top of BBC’s old Television Centre. We were instantly sold by the blurb found on their website, “Designed as a vision of the Mediterranean, Pergola on the Roof will be a piece of sunny European escapism – a rooftop eatery, covered by a wooden open air structure wrapped in evergreen ivy, wisteria and bougainvillea, set against white washed walls with murals adorning the walls.”
Alongside its beautiful setting are four pop-up restaurants by Rabbit, Salt Yard, Patty & Bun and LeCoq; all serving deliciously bespoke menu’s. An additional two bars, 400 seats, bookable day beds and stunning design makes this the perfect summer
Pergola on the Roof is open until 29th August 2016 and can be found at the Television Centre, White City, W12 7RJ.
The Savoy’s Royal Afternoon Tea
In celebration of The Queen’s 90th Birthday celebrations, The Savoy will be launching a Royal Afternoon Tea. The Savoy have collaborated with The Royal Chef, Darren McGrady to present a menu that’s fit for a Queen and a true representation of what our reigning monarch enjoys when taking tea at the Palace.
The Savoy’s Royal Afternoon Tea will feature some of the Queens favourites, which remain on the Royal tea menu today. This will include the Jam Pennies Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret loved as young children; Chocolate birthday cake, the recipe of which dates back to Queen Victoria’s chef; and Her Majesty’s absolute favourite, the Chocolate biscuit cake which was chosen by Prince William for his Groom’s cake.
The Savoy’s Royal Afternoon Tea will be available from 9th June until the end of the month and is priced from £52.50pp.
Coin Laundry‘s new brunch menu
Every Saturday and Sunday Coin Laundry will be serving a bottomless brunch, with a new brand new menu. On the menu you can expect to find a range of unmissable cheeseburgers, sausage and onion baps and sweet banana pancakes or more creatively, sardines on toast, asparagus quiche and omelette primavera. Of course all of the dishes have an added Coin Laundry twist that will take you on a trip down memory lane.
Besides the food menu are three 70’s inspired bottomless drink options; Bloody Mary, Bucks Fizz and Pamplemousse.
Coin Laundry’s bottomless brunch can be found on Exmouth Market between 10-12pm and 12-2pm.
Raising money for the Open Air Classroom Project, Fork to Fork is the baby of Thomasina Miers (Cofounder of Wahaca). Miers has convinced 35 fellow restauranteurs to come, set up stalls, and donate signature dishes for charity. The line-up includes Hoppers, Lyle’s, The Ledbury, Kitty Fisher’s, Granger & Co, Polpo, The River Café, The Modern Pantry, Wahaca, Caravan, and many more, all there to help out the cause/curb your appetite.
This month The Nudge are launching a monthly series of one-off dinner experiences called The Chef’s Table. They’ve invited the sous chefs from critically lavished eateries like Portland, The Clove Club, Kitchen Table, Craft London, Typing Room, and many more to take full creative control of the kitchen. The chefs will showcase, explore, and experiment with their art to bring you an exclusive, no-holds-barred preview of the very food that’s about to become the future of the London restaurant scene, from the head chefs of tomorrow.
First up is rapidly rising star Edoardo Pellicano who has previously worked at Noma, Viajante, and Chiltern Firehouse, and who is currently the No. 2 at Portland. The event is private to Nudge Members, but as members ourselves (and only £12 a month) we highly recommend you invest in a membership.
