London isn’t necessarily known for its Mexican food, but that looks set to change. There’s been a steady rise in offerings in recent years, from the ever-swelling chain Wahaca to Mayfair’s Peyote to Soho’s La Bodega Negra—and now there’s Molé Taco Bar. As a keen Mexican fan, I couldn’t wait to try London’s latest which has opened a stones throw away from Bond Street Tube station.

Upon arrival I was charmed by the warm service received by the Molé team who took the time to take us through the menu, recommend their favourite dishes and explain any queries we had about the adventurous, 80% gluten free menu. Whilst we were deciding what to order, our waitress brought over their homemade guacamole and chips made with fresh pomegranates. Highly recommended.

Highlights of the menu were:

– The 16-hour braised chipotle short rib
– Baja fish taco, shark fillet tempura, chipotle mayo and Japanese slaw
– Chorizo and Potato Quesadillas

Everything we ordered was perfectly cooked, packed with flavour and left you feeling utterly satisfied. I’d even go as far as to say, it is one of the best Mexicans in London.

(And there’s even plans to open a take-out burrito bar downstairs!)
