We’ve compiled a list of restaurant openings of all that is new this month, including game, gastropubs, burgers and barbecue.

Native

In December we predicted that ‘Root to Stem’ would become the new ‘Nose to Tail’ and Native are set to prove us right. Native is the brain child of Imogen Davis and River Cottage-trained Ivan Tisdall-Downes, who will serve innovative dishes which unite the country’s best foraged foods and wild meats in a casual setting.

Customers can look forward to dishes such as raw Sussex venison with treacle cured pheasant egg and even ‘fast food’ classics such as Pheasant Kebab and Southern Fried Rabbit. 

Barrio, Brixton

Latino bar Barrio is due to open their fourth restaurant in Brixton this February. The new venue on Acre Lane will have room for 200 and an outside area perfect for long summer nights. They’ll be serving up all manner of tequillas and mezcals, to piscos and cachacas. Food wise they’ll be focusing on anticuchos – spicy skewers of meat, the kind of street food you’d find in Lima.

Frenchie

The husband and wife team behind the critically acclaimed Frenchie, Paris are opening a London outpost in Covent Garden this month. Their London menu will echo the original, featuring simple bistro dishes using British-sourced and seasonal ingredients. Dishes may include Brill, duck broth, wild mushrooms and bergamot and salted crust celeriac, bottarga, Medjool dates and Vadouvan Oil.

Dickie Fitz

The Newham Street Tavern is no more – but we’re particularly interested in its replacement. Dickie Fitz will be an all-day affair, serving dishes inspired by the Pacific.

Expect Chicken Schnitzel sandwiches, Lamingtons (a type of Aussie cake) and steamed barramundi with dashi roast cabbage and Daikon. A weekend brunch is also available with an Australian influence.

Their soft launch runs from 18th – 23rd Feb, so head down for 50% off food.
