Three of our favourite eats this November.
De Wasserette, Amsterdam
I recently stayed in De Pijp, Amsterdam – a cool little area just outside the centre of the city. I fell in love with the number of independent cafe’s and bars within the area. One morning we ate brunch at De Wasserette, which was a couple of minutes away from our apartment.
I ordered their chicken, pancetta, truffle mayo and avocado sandwich – A beautiful combination of flavours that I can’t wait to recreate in my own kitchen. If you are ever in the area, it is definitely worth trying.
Chinese Laundry, Islington
We stumbled across this cosy little restaurant in Islington last week. Chinese Laundry has just opened and serves 80’s style Chinese food. Intrigued? Us too.
The interior looks like your Grandmothers living room, with potted plants, kitsch lamps and a humorous use of ornaments. My favourite dish on the menu was the Chinese chicken wings and the lamb – the wine was pretty good too!
Hotbox is offering an exciting Brunch menu which runs from 11:30 -2:30 every Saturday and Sunday. The interior is simple & trendy, a completely black space with great lighting and a pop of red running down the pillar.
My verdict: The brunch is phenomenal. I recommend you try the chicken and Belgian waffles & have a taste of the burger. Both are delicious. I’d go back every weekend if I could!
