Welcome to Meet CADA. Every month we’ll be meeting a member of the CADA Design team to understand how and what they do! Last month we met Vera.

This month…Meet Sarah!

Who are you and what is your job title?

My name is Sarah Mckenna and I’m the New Business Manager.

How long have you worked for CADA Design in total?

Almost 2 years!

What does your job entail?

Our clients are fast-moving retailers and hospitality operators. It’s my job to show how CADA can help them to lead in their sectors and win more customers than their competitors by commissioning our strategic design work. I do this by keeping them up to date with the latest trends and innovations in their industries and getting them talking about their challenges.

What is the most memorable project you have worked on?
The nature of my role means I’m more involved in the pitch stages than in a project itself once it gets off the ground. One in particular was for a substantial piece of work, bringing in a number of collaborative agencies and making sure everyone’s specialism shone through in a complementary way, showing that together, we are more than the sum of our parts.
Why was this project so memorable?

We got so much done in such a tight timeframe, remotely, with people in different agencies and time zones offering completely different skillsets but all sharing the common goal of wanting to make the client’s customer experience better, driving sales and securing the long term future of the business.

Can you describe any wacky client requests?

Not at CADA, yet – perhaps all our clients are very sensible? In a previous life I worked in restaurant PR so launch requests were as diverse as getting Mariachi bands onto Fleet Street, arranging photo shoots for a top chef picking and eating watercress straight from the beds, organising evenings where opera singers walk between the tables serenading the guests and hosting a dinner matching whisky to fine Chinese cuisine without knowing very much about either element.

Do you have an unusual hobby?

No time for an unusual hobby, I’m still trying to find slots in the week to teach myself the piano again!

Can you describe your dream holiday?

Dream holiday is a little house by the sea on one of the small islands off Sicily. They’ll be direct sea access – preferably leaping straight in from rocks to avoid sand – great views, hammocks, Kindle at the ready and it’s within walking distance of a few restaurants, bars and grocery shops.
